Toyota LandCruiser FJ40 - BJ40 - BJ42

The first half year I used my FJ40 as a daily driver. A couple of things where wrong with it: The rear of the Cruiser was leaning backwards as you can see in the pictures below (leaf springs should be replaced) The thermostat was broken in a couple of pieces, the Brake Master Cylinder was leaking, rear ambulance door lock defect, ignition key got completely stuck damaging the lock. It had the wrong seats. In the front FORD seats and in the back a couple of rare worn out seats from an J70 series. No working seat belts and of course RUST ! But nothing to complain when it comes to running, breaking or electrics. In the front it has disk brakes, in the rear drum brakes.

The beginning: The Toyota LandCruiser FJ40 - BJ40 - BJ42 project

My Toyota LandCruiser FJ40 from 1974

This is it. My Toyota LandCruiser FJ40 from 1974. These are the first pictures, taken with an 1MB camera on our Nokia mobile phone. 10-12-2005 I registered it in my name.
The LandCruiser came first on the road on the 30th of June 1974 and was imported from Belgium to the Netherlands on 14-12-1978.
It's color is Mustard Yellow. Originally it was equiped with the inline 6 cylinder 3.9 liter petrol engine . In the Netherlands it had its FJ40 engine factory replaced with the Toyota LandCruiser 3.4 liter 3B engine from the BJ42. Probably one of the best upgrades you could wish.

These are the original pictures in the advertisement on Ebay:
